The images in this section were not commissions. I created them for my own edification, and with the hopes that more people would be exposed to the articles, conversations, etc. that they visually represent. The above quote reflects the contradiction I feel as a creator of “art” under capitalism, which renders the process alienated and commodified. Paid commissions allow me to create self- (and community-) directed graphics through work that feels as unalienated as I can possibly reach under such conditions.
